Better listing decisions,grounded in evidence.

Listing SEO Auditor reads one Etsy listing through the official Etsy Open API and returns a readiness audit, a prioritized fix list, and title, tag, and description copy the seller reviews before using. Version 1 uses the API and nothing else.

Not currently accepting public users. Commercial API access, billing, and failure handling are being reviewed before beta testing.

A focused workflow

From listing evidence to the next useful edit.

The tool deliberately does one job at a time, so the cost, the evidence, and the result stay understandable.

01

Read the listing

Retrieve the listing's own title, tags, description, images, and taxonomy through the official Etsy Open API, plus the buyer query the seller supplies.

02

Find the constraint

Separate listing readiness from conversion readiness, and report anything the API does not expose as not measured rather than guessing at it.

03

Make the next edit

Return prioritized findings and title, tag, and description copy built only from API data and the seller's own terms, for the seller to review.

Evidence, with boundaries

Useful signals without invented certainty.

Every field the audit reads comes from the official Etsy Open API: the listing's title, tags, description, images, taxonomy, and public counters. Nothing is read from Etsy web pages. There is no crawler, no browser automation, no proxy pool, and no stored copy of Etsy's search results.

The buyer query comes from the seller, not from a scraped suggestion list. Where the API cannot answer a question, the report says so: missing information is reported as not measured—never treated as proof that something is absent, and never filled in by the model.

Where the seller asks for suggested copy, the audited listing's own API content is sent to a third-party AI provider, which returns the wording. It may only organize evidence already gathered: it cannot introduce unsupported keywords or turn view and favourite counters into sales claims, and its output is mechanically checked before anything reaches the report.

How data is handled and retained

Product guardrails

  • Official Etsy Open API only — no screen scraping
  • One public listing and one seller-supplied query per audit
  • No Etsy login, order data, or automatic listing edits
  • No ranking, sales, or search-volume promises
  • Keywords trace to API data or terms the seller supplied
  • AI processing is disclosed, opt-out, and never trains a model
  • Etsy content expires from stored reports, not just dated

What version 1 does not do

The limits are part of the product.

Etsy's API Terms of Use prohibit screen-scraping, and the API does not expose search ranking. Version 1 therefore reports none of the following, rather than estimating them.

  • Etsy search rank or search-results position
  • Scraped search pages, autocomplete, or storefront HTML
  • Page-1 competitor sets, niche slots, or traffic comparisons
  • Keyword search volume, which Etsy does not publish

Etsy's keyword endpoint returns a different result set than Etsy search, so treating it as a ranking sample would be misleading. It is used only to count how many active listings match a term.

Current status

The engine works. Public access does not.

The audit engine is built and covered by an automated test suite. It runs today against the developer's own shop, reading live listing fields through an approved Etsy API key, and is exercised against saved fixtures the rest of the time.

It is not offered to other sellers yet. Commercial API access, billing, and failure handling are settled first—which is what this page exists to support. If Etsy ever authorizes broader data access in writing, it would be a separate, disclosed change; version 1 does not assume it.
